5 down, 1 to go! .......

Well, I'm still here...but only just! Where have the last 5 weeks gone I wonder?

Although I have been reading all your blogs I just haven't had the chance/felt like blogging.

We had the first 2 weeks away at our caravan.  Boy, was it hard work.  My oldest Becky, didn't really want to go at all and locked herself in her bedroom refusing to go whilst we were trying to load the car up.  It was gone 8pm on the Friday eve by the time we managed to persuade her to come with us (the threat of staying 2 weeks with her Nan and Grandad did the job)  She then spent most of the two weeks we were there either in her room or basically spoiling everywhere we went.  Alex also mananged to pick up quiet a few tips from her to which he too pulled out of the bag several times over the fortnight.  The trouble is Becky is just 15 and couldn't be left to her own devices for the 2 weeks, I wouldn't even leave her for the night.  She used to like going away but now she is happy to just stay at home - mostly in her bedroom.  I'm guessing it's an age thing but it's so frustrating as we plan the holiday around them - going to places they want to go, doing things they want to do.  We only ever go to the clubhouse/bar/pub once or twice a week, neither of us a big drinkers so it's no big deal for us.  But you just can't please her at the moment.

We were really lucky with the weather too, the first week had a few overcast days but the second week was a scorcher.  Sadly, we only managed to make it to my favorite beach in Frinton on Sea the once as they both refused to go!  I thought kids liked the seaside....how wrong was I!

Since we've been back from our hols, we've started decorating :(  The whole house needs to be done too!  I'm in charge of the woodwork and hubby is doing the emulsioning with me doing the cutting in (that's because I am a perfectionist and he hates DIY and thinks it OK to slap it on the wall any old fashion)

Becky turned 15 last week, so we spent the day at her favorite shopping centre - Westfields London.  I find it all a bit poncy but everyone to their own I guess.

So, today it's been raining on and off all day and I've woken up with the dog.  The kids have been a pain in the butt - they've not even bothered to get dressed either BUT I guess it cuts down on the washing!

Tomorrow, we are off to Southend on Sea for the day by train.  We managed to get return tickets from London for £20 for us all - it's quicker and is so much cheaper then driving.  They have a theme park there called Adventure Island and we've used some of our clubcard vouchers to buy the passes.  So, a cheap day out will be had hopefully - that's if I manage to stay clear of the shops.

Hubby's off work next week so we will have a few days out and about inbetween decorating.  Then it's all back to school and work on Monday 5th.

Have a great weekend, it's a bank holiday weekend here in the UK so I'm not surprised that the weather is pants!

Take care
